Years ago, on WCCO,
Boone and Erickson held sway;
With wit and wisdom, it would flow,
joined by Dave C. many a day.

Today, Dave holds forth his engaging tone,
information in a country way,
cordial, nostalgic, current, home-grown,
that's what I'm trying to say.

Reflecting the progress with humor rural,
marking the day, conversational way,
the mood of the various times unfurl;
Timely, I'm trying to say.

Music aired, its background shared,
making and feeding of hay,
work-a-day blending, community friending,
bit of history in experience way.

A play upon words, of flocks and of herds,
are related before the time's gone,
generously given, laughter and living,
a day's work, begun at dawn.

A treasure we partake, early day make,
a potpourri of thoughts, if I may.
So glad you gave your morning, Dave.
That's what I'm trying to say.
